By Gregor the King and Kiena the Queen.  It is known and manifest to all the wise that the words and deeds of men frequently slip from the memory, through the manifold agitations caused by wicked deeds, and as the result of wandering thoughts, unless they are preserved and recalled to mind in the form of words and by the precaution of entrusting them to writing. For this reason, we have ordered this document to be written for the sake of the memory of posterity, and do aver, affirm and attest for all time that we wish the name of Arngrimr meinfretr to be written upon the lists of the nobility, and that the said Arngrimr shall hereafter bear Arms with all rights, pertinents and privileges for all time, both within the town wall and without, uncontested by anyone as long as he lives. To those who increase and uphold this our royal decree shall be added the reward of our enduring favor. Those who diminish and break it shall be confounded by eternal punishment, unless they have made due amends.

Based upon the charter of Wærferth, bishop, and the community at Worcester, to Æthelred and Æthelflæd, their lords, dated A.D. 904.  (http://ascharters.net/charters/1280?q=&page=)

Those things that are defined to good effect according to law, although speech alone should suffice, yet should be granted with very reliable writings and documents to avoid ambiguity at a future time. Wherefore, We, Kiena, queen of the Easterners, by our royal authority have caused this document to be made so that the good people of our Realm will know that Brita Mari Svensdottir is a good and honorable woman, possessed of the virtues of the saints.  And, as a clear sign of the love we bear to the aforesaid Brita, by this present charter we do command firmly and immovably that she shall hereafter and for all time bear upon her person the sign of the Queen’s Order of Courtesy.  If anyone indeed should attempt, which we do not want, to bring about opposition to this ordinance or presume to change it to other than what has been decided by us, may he be separated from the fellowship of our laws and placed with ravening wolves, condemned to suffer our wrath and displeasure.  Done on the 4th day of February, in the forty-sixth year of the Society, before our assembled court in the Shire of Quintavia.

Based on a charter of King Aethelstan dated A.D. 924.
