Very rainy Thursday

So, it's raining cats and dogs here in Northern NJ. We're expected to get at least another 5 inches before Friday night.

Bound Brook, one of the towns near Piscataway, has issued a voluntary evacuation order because the Raritan River is getting near flood stages. In the more northern parts of NJ, the Passaic River is doing its thing to Fairfield, Wayne, Pompton Plains and assorted areas.

Given the nasty weather, are the Tads still coming up to Piscataway practice? Having been sick all week I'm debating the merits of practice or going home and sleeping. Whether the Tads are coming up will matter to that decision.

As far as I know we're still coming. I don't know if it's a good idea or not but I haven't heard of any cancellation so far.

And the moment, my stomach is calling the shots on whether I go. I am not going to go fence if I am likely to barf on someone's shoes. :-)

I don't know.

Down here, right at this moment, it isn't raining. But we all know how diametrically opposed weather can be between North and South Jersey.

I sent something to our mailing list to see if the group consensus was to still go. I don't mind driving in rain. I just don't want to have to swim home.

So if we can come to some sort of conclusion (one way or the other), I'll let you know. :)

I've emailed the fencer formerly known as Xavier around 2 to check how Piscataway was. Haven't heard back yet

The current plan is still for some of us (at least, maybe all of us) to meet at Collin's parents' place and caravan up together. That way if we're going to slip-n-scar, we'll do it together, I s'pose.

It is still raining here (I am a bit south of the practice site) but Piscataway itself seems to be fine. The weather report is calling for showers tonight, but not sheets of rain. So you should be ok.

Alice, you should come out if you can. Even if you don't fence, you can hang out with Gail and I and sew :o)
