1. What is your SCA Name?

2. What time and where do you portray?
Whatever suits my fancy. :-) Alys is 16th century Scots, from Inverness.
When I'm doing High Middle Ages, I'm Alays de Brantome and when I'm doing 11th-12th century, I'm Ailis ingen mhic an Toiseach
3. In plain English describe your device.
Plain English is for wusses. Ermine, three chevronels braced and in chief two bears combattant gules
4. How long have you been in the SCA?
July 1988
5. Do you have any special titles you have earned?
Lots. Oh, you want to know what they are? :-)

6. What kingdom and local group do you belong to?
Barony of Settmour Swamp, East Kingdom
7. Do you have preferred colors for your SCA Persona?
Red. And, oh, red.
8. What is your war that you look forward to going to every year?
Pennsic
9. Do you hold any offices?
Sinking Tower Pursuivant. I'm a former Kingdom Rapier Marshal.
10. Favorite memory from an event?
The first Fencing Champions tourney (non-War Point back then) at Pennsic 20-something
11. Are you a fighter? What kind?
Fencer. I used to fight heavy, but there just isn't enough time in my life to keep that up.
12. Are you crafty (making things)?
I can make acceptable garb and decent beaded jewelry.
13. Do you teach classes at events?
At least twice a year, if not more often. The next thing I'm teaching is a court heraldry class at Noisemakers in February.
14. Do you play instruments at events?
I'd like to, but time is a factor. I play medieval instruments at home, though.
15. Do you dance at events?
I don't dance anywhere. :-)
16. Do you feel that there is enough flirting and chivalrous behavior in the SCA ?
Flirting a non-issue for me. I think we often have far too much of a modern jock attitude and not enough real chivalry, particularly at Pennsic.
17. Is there an art, science or martial art that you want to learn or are working on learning?
I would like to be a much better seamstress - I'd like to make more attractive and authentic garb.
18. What is one of the reasons you've remained in the SCA?
My insane and wonderful friends
19. What peerage(s) do you aspire to?
I'm already a Pelican.
20. Who was Crown when you joined the SCA?
Gavin & Sedalia
21. If you are a Peer, who was the Crown that elevated you?
Brion I & Anna I in the East
22. Have you lived in more than 1 kingdom and which ones?
Nope. All Eastern, all the time.
23. Have you helped found a group?
Nope
24. Have you had any house affiliations?
Sharc Pit. I'm affiliated by vassalage ties and friendship with the Tadcaster Militia, TOAD and the now defunct Weresheep
25. Have you ever been landed nobility or on the throne of any SCA Kingdom?
Nope. Came damn close once.
