A column from Maureen Dowd at the NY Times on picking the right husband.  Although, honestly, if you substitute "mate" for "husband," it does carry across gender lines pretty well.

The best line of the article is this, attributed to St. Paul:

Edited to add:  It turns out this is not a quote, but a paraphrase of Ephesians 4:1-16.

It was a very good column. Maureen Dowd is often at her best when she quotes extensively from others. :-)
