Or an amazing facsimile. Well, not really so amazing. Doing 50 hours of typing in the 4 days leading up to practice is not really conducive to fencing with schlagers, even my pansy-ass light schlagers. My hands hurt like hell. My thighs are reminding me that I haven't done serious footwork in a month and wore high heels three times last week. But my back doesn't hurt and my shoulders don't hurt, which is all to the good.

The real bummer was that, by the time I was finally really warmed up, it was time to stop.

Yeah for poking people with swords :)
I was pleasantly surprised yesterday with how I could hold my sword.
Are your schlagers lighter than mine? I don't remember comparing

I know how you feel. We only get our practice space for 3 hours, and the first half is usually taken up by socializing and teaching. I'm usually just getting into the grove when I realize it's time to change and go home.

Glad to hear you were able to fence, though!

We only have our practice space for 2 hours - even though we jump right in to fencing with a fairly minimal amount of socializing (we can talk and do footwork at the same time ), there just isn't enough time.

:( I can recall in the early days of my fencing career. We had a practice at 3 rivers community college in CT. We were in a gym and I used to like to shoot hoops to warm up while everyone else was socializing.

Oddly enough, I always fenced better after I shot hoops for 10-20 minutes. LOL

I miss being able to warm up with any kind of physical activity. Being chained to a desk for 12+ hours a day does not really get the muscles moving.
