One of the requested topics is "Customer Service for Heralds."  What else would people (both heralds and non-heralds) like to see taught regarding the heraldic arts?

I'm curious about the history of heraldry, and separately, the history of SCA heraldry.

The "history of heraldry" is like saying "the history of medieval clothing." It varies placed on place and time. Any thoughts on what nationality or era you'd find most interesting?

*Laugh* I wondered if you might say something like that. Honestly, I'd be happy with pretty much any specific topic someone chose to teach. My particular leanings tend to be towards the British Isles in the early 16th century or France-ish in the early and mid 14th century, but that doesn't mean that's the only place and time I'd like to learn about. If someone is totally into 13th century Spanish heraldry, I bet it would be awesome to learn about it from them, even if I don't have much use for 13th century Spain in my every day SCA life.

I wouldn't have even the first clue of where to go if I wanted to start learning about heraldic history from any time or place (okay, slight lie: I would ask you). Sometimes if you take a class on a topic in a parallel vein to the one you're super interested in, it gives some nice clues about how to go about doing your own research.

Depending on how I'm feeling and on my work schedule, I may do a "basic armory design" class at Coronation, plus the long-promised vocal training class. Again, dependent on the rest of my life.

Well, I'll definitely be at Coronation, barring any crazy life events of my own, and I'm very curious, especially about the first one.

Actually, as I mentioned to Malcolm today, I'm kind of curious about the voice heraldry, too, but I think I have too many things on my plate as it is.

The history of heraldry in the SCA would be interesting. Digging through past precedents and such is always fun, you get to follow along as the rules and customs evolved over the years as we learned more.

Hmmmm. I'm trying to think of who I'd get to teach this, and whether I could get that person to Mudthaw or some future event.
