Malcolm's Grant of Arms

Yesterday, my former cadet, Malcolm Bowman, aka fencerm2  received a Grant of Arms from the Crown of the East and became the Honorable Don Malcolm.  Needless to say, no one else was doing the scroll wording for him.

 

By Konrad the King and Brenwen the Queen, right trusty and well-beloved, We greet you well. Forasmuch as the Crown of this realm, with all dignities, honors, prerogatives, authorities, jurisdictions, and pre-eminences thereunto annexed is most lawfully, justly, and rightfully descended and come unto Our Imperial Selves that now are, being the very true and undoubted heirs and inheritors thereof; and forasmuch as Our Most Royal Persons are invested, according unto the laws of this realm, with the authority and power to recognize, elevate and endow Our servants with such accolades as are just, right and fitting; and forasmuch as innumerable good and honorable labors have been performed to Our benefit and in Our honor by Our subject Malcolm Bowman; and forasmuch as the said Malcolm has proven himself to be possessed of loyal, trustworthy and good character as befits one who acts as Our voice; therefore, be it declared and enacted, by the supremacy of the Crown and the law of this realm, that the said Malcolm be and hereby is Granted the following Arms:  Per saltire sable and vert, a hedgehog rampant to sinister argent.  In witness whereof, We have caused these Our letters to be made, sealed, signed recorded and read before the assembled nobles of the Realm at King's and Queen's Rapier Champions in the Barony of Settmour Swamp on the 27th day of February, A.S. XLIV.
