Things that caught my attention today.
Jun. 30th, 2010 04:36 pmThe man who gave us Susan Ivanova (that being J. Michael Straczynski) is going to be writing Wonder Woman. Or, more accurately, re-writing Wonder Woman with a fundamental retcon of her origin and an entirely new costume. http://www.nytimes.com/2010/06/30/books/30wonder.html?ref=arts
NBC Universal prevailed in a lawsuit by a couple who claims they came up with the idea for Ghostplumber - er, Ghost Hunters first. (Montz v. Pilgrim Films & Television, Inc., 9th Cir., Docket No. 08-56954, 6/3/2010).
The movie Airplane! is 30 years old. http://www.nytimes.com/2010/06/27/movies/27airplane.html?src=me&ref=arts
For the movie buffs out there, I also share one of my favorite games: Cast (and assign a director if you're really a geek) the worst movie version of the 3 Musketeers ever. My "dream team" is:
Quentin Tarantino directs Dennis Hopper, Christopher Walken and James Woods as the trio. With Dennis Hopper now deceased, I think I'd have to put Samuel L. Jackson into his slot. Not that any of these guys are bad actors. But they are not Musketeers.
