True Blood finale
Sep. 15th, 2010 03:30 pmHow . . . . bland.
Eric got out of that cement awfully easily. Doesn't that suggest that perhaps the cunning plan for trapping Russell is not so cunning after all? Also, when did silver become vampire kryptonite? I don't entirely see how simply slapping a silver cuff onto Eric should have weakened him that much, especially after he'd chowed down on Sookie that morning.
Russell's supposedly thousands of years old. So was Godric. Godric went up pretty quickly when exposed to the sun, as I recall. None of this chatty charred corpse thing.
Essentially, this all adds up to "who forgot to read the vampire stats before the game?" Plus some unpleasant flashbacks to episodes of Angel that I found particularly awful.
Still don't care much about Sam or his brother. Care even less about Jason and Hot Shot. Was unsurprised that Jesus is a brujo.
Is it enough of a cliche yet that federal law enforcement officials are dicks? Particularly when they come into small towns?
Truly, the only bright spot in this episode for me was the plot surrounding Hoyt and Jessica. I'd watch a whole series about them -- like a vampire version of Bewitched, with Hoyt's Momma in the Endora role. ;-)

Date: 2010-09-15 07:49 pm (UTC)Russell didn't burn all the way up because he had Sookies blood still in him, but he couldn't heal because no one would feed him more blood. Hence why the cement thing would work on him. No healing, no getting out he is weakened and the silver chains aren't helping much. He probably will get out, but needs sleep because he probably hasn't slept in a while since Talbot bought it and if he rests he probably will get out easily.
Eric I feel was faking it with the silver. He tends to fake it a lot to survive, it is one of his tricks. So he let Bill think he was down and out so he could get out quickly. Why wait until you have the crap beat out of you and then try to get out. Fake it and get out faster and sneak up on your enemy.
And yes I like Hoyt and Jessica, and I really hate his mother though and I hope that bratty Summer girl is gone. Really annoying.
