Very weird
Jul. 28th, 2005 10:03 amI found out today that the very first guy I worked for upon becoming a lawyer just died quite unexpectedly. He was only in his late 50s at most, I'm guessing. I'm seriously debating whether to go to one of the memorial services.
On the one hand, I learned an awful lot from this guy. He was smart as a whip, a really good lawyer, and, on a purely professional level, a great mentor. On the other hand, he was a wretched human being who saw nothing wrong about having the firm I worked for sue my grandparents.

Re: That's a hell of a moral decission, worthy of Socrates

One of my profs, who looked in fine health at the beginning of the course, was coughing midway through the term. Then he was out for some weeks. The morning of the final, the sub gave us our instructions. Then he informed us that our teacher had died of cancer over the weekend, spread his hands, asked if there were any questions, and said, "Good luck on the test!" Yeah...
The teacher had looked under 55.
