Edward, King of the East, and Thyra, his Queen, to all good men of all this land, clergy and laymen, greeting. Having heard good report from notable persons of this Kingdom concerning the worthy labors of Isabel Chamberlaine, we do now give, grant and by the tenor of our present charter confirm in perpetuity to the said Isabel the status and estate of the Order of the Silver Crescent along with all rights, privileges, liberties and endowments appertaining thereto. This present charter, and the gift, grant and endowments contain therein, in all points and articles, conditions and methods and whatsoever the circumstances, in and by all things, we approve, ratify and confirm, for ourselves and our successors and our heirs, by all the best means, form and effect, with the consent and deliberation of the three estates of our realm, notwithstanding any other matters made or set in motion to the contrary by us or by whomsoever of our predecessors. In witness whereof, by the consent and deliberation of our parliament, we have ordered our signatures to be attached to this our present charter, and have caused the charter to be read in open court with the lord prelates, barons and commissioners of the burghs of our realm gathered therein, as is customary to be done in such cases.
