Edward and Thyra, by Grace, King and Queen of the East, Overlords of Tir Mara, etc. Forasmuch as you, Pascual de la Mar, have by your many and sundry labors brought about manifold increase in the good weal of our Barony of Carillion and improved the practice of the art of defence within our lands, the both which being matters pleasing our sight; and forasmuch as we have received of certain knowledge good reports from worthy persons of honest reputation concerning your merit, and quality; therefore it is but just and reasonable that you should be rewarded. And We, in the fullness of our authority as King and Queen, descended in unbroken line from all that have gone before us, being willing to honor and favor you for the reasons aforesaid, therefore attest and confirm: Our will is, that you, Pascual de la Mar be inducted into our Order of the Silver Crescent and endowed hereafter and in perpetuity with all the perquisites and other things belonging and appertaining to the aforenamed Order; and allow, and cause to be allowed you, all the honours, graces, concessions, prehaminences, prerogatives, immunities, and other things, or any of them which are due to you as a member of the aforenamed Order. And we do further will that, for the future, you may call and style yourself as a member of the aforenamed Order and shall bear upon your person the signs and emblems thereof in the same manner as all other members of the aforenamed Order according to the most ancient rule and custom of our Realm.  Concerning all which things, if it be requisite, and you shall desire it, We command our Tyger Clerk of the Signet, Herald, and other Officers, to pass, seal, and deliver to you, this Letter of Privilege, in such form and legal manner, as you shall require or stand in need of. Given at Settmour Swamp, upon 23 March, in the forty-seventh year of the Society.
