Eva's Court Barony
Apr. 7th, 2013 11:21 amYesterday, the lovely and talented Eva Woderose was made a Court Baroness and I had the opportunity to do a proper text for her at long last. The text is based on the will of Henry VII of England (1507) with period spellings from the source text for the win.
By Edward the King. By Thyra the Queen. Forasmoche as the moost
honourable ladye, our right trusty and welbiloved Eva Woderose has wel
and truely served us in all thinges, and forasmoche as we wol that the
saide Eva should maintain a good and prosperous estate in perpetuell
memorie of us, it is ordeyned, established and enacted by theis
presentes signed by oure signe manuel that the sayd Eva shall
hereafter holde, enjoie and possess the rights and privyleges of a
Baroness of our Courte, with all the membres and appurtenances of same
according to the lawes and ancient custumes of the Reaulme. Further,
we wol and require and strictely charge our Sone the Prince and other
oure heires that the saide Eva have and enjoye this graunt soo by us
made according to the tenores, fourme and effect stated herein without
any maner lette or interrupcion of our Sone or any other oure heires.
In testimony of all which we have commaunded and caused this document
to be created and signed by oure signe manuell and also our grete
Seale to be put to theis said presentes. Dated at Carillion the 6th
day of April, the forty-seventh year of the Society.
