Galefridus Peregrinus also recieved a Pelican yesterday. Alexandre Lerot d'Avigne and I collaborated on a Latin text for him. I handled the research end, finding a source text for us to work from, and ensuring all the necessary SCAdian information was in the text. Alexandre handled the Latin adaptation *in Latin*. We then translated it into English.

Gregorius, Dei gratia humilis rex Orientalis, princeps Tir Marae, et
dux societatis, et Kiena, Dei gratia humilis reginia Orientalis,
princepissa Tir Marae, et comitessa societatus, archiepiscopis,
episcopis, comitibus, vicecomitibus, baronibus, senescallis,
prepositis, justiciis, ballivis et universis, tam futuris quam
presentibus, ad quoscumque littere iste pervenerint, salutem.

Sciatis nos concessisse fidelo homini nostro, Galefrido Perigrino,
sodalitatem in Ordine Pelicani cum armatu postscriptum. Volumus
perciculum corporis et rerum tantundem incurrat, in mani dominorum and
dominarum Orientalis, ac si ipsum sancte ecclesie oratorium violasset.

Datum apud Paludem Ferri, anno societatis XXXXVIII, septem die ante
idus September

Unfortunately, what I failed to notice during any of my reviews, was that Alexandre declared Gregor and Kiena to be Prince and Princess of Tir Mara as well as King and Queen of the East. While absolutely period correct, it is not SCA correct. The Crown Prince and Princess of the East are the Prince and Princess of Tir Mara. I suitably abased myself before Their Highnesses and then threw Alexandre under the bus (since he's in England now and they can't do anything to him).

Heh. I did that in Mylisant's Silver Crescent as well. Ryan stopped reading when he got to ... Princess ... and I heard a muted HEY! coming from Kennric's side of the house.

The Crown Prince and Princess of the East are the Prince and Princess of Tir Mara.

Huh, this is definitely IKA. In the Middle and Drachenwald, the King and Queen were the de facto prince and princess of Crown Principalities.

Oh, that explains the byplay. I wondered.

Don't know if it makes you feel better or worse (or possibly neither) but we've had at least 1 scroll in each of the last three Royal Courts with that exact *woops*. It's weird that all of a sudden a number of folks are making this error.
