Yesterday, during a dull lunch hour, I found usable SCA documentation for Miranda in the "gray period" in Spain:
Miranda Miguel
Gender:  Female
Burial Date:
Burial Place:
Death Date:  10 Feb 1642
Death Place:  Murcia, Murcia, Spain
The use of B- Batches from the Family Search Historical Records as documentation was approved in the January 2014 LoAR.

Also, following up on a request from a truly adorable 11-year old girl, I found documentation for Merida (from Brave if you've been living under an American pop culture rock):

As a given name:
Merida Daves
Marriage
Spouse's Name: Joane Kinge
Event Date: 29 Dec 1628
Event Place: Andover,Hampshire,England
Batch: M05807-2
(https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/NVJS-6ZW)

Given that the Family Search convention is always to put the husband's name in the first line, and the wife's name in the "spouse" line, this is almost certainly a male name.  But I could be wrong.
As a late 16th cen. surname:
William Merida
Male
Marriage
Event Date: 12 Sep 1580
Event Place: St. Botoph Aldgate, London, England
Batch: M00080-4

I'd expect Merida to be a form of Meredudd, so male sounds right.

I couldn't figure out where a male Merida could have come from, but Meredudd makes a certain amount of sense.
