Apologies for this being rather late in starting. I've been fighting a low grade bug and dealing with Stuff.
The rules are as always -- no Googling until at least 24 hours have gone by since the songs were posted. Mostly you get bragging rights at the end of Advent, but some years there are actual prizes. It all depends on my mood. Answers will be posted behind cuts.
Kicking off with three Christmas tunes because I'm starting late:
(1) This Star drew nigh to the North West;
O'er Bethlehem it took it's rest.
And there it did both stop and stay,
Right over the place where Jesus lay.
(2) Of her, Emanuel, the Christ was born
In Bethlehem, all on a Christmas morn
And Christian folk throughout the world will ever say:
"Most highly favored lady," Gloria!
and one for Bruni:
(3) Depuis plus de quatre mille ans,
Nous le promettaient les Prophetes;
Depuis plus de quatre mille ans,
Nous attendions cet heureux temps.
The answers are: (1) The First Nowell; (2) Gabriel's Message; (3) Il Est Ne le Divin Enfant
