It's lasted for so many years!
Don't let the light go out!
Let it shine through our love and our tears.
(2) So climb down the chimney
Put up the brightest string of lights I've ever seen
Slice up the fruitcake
It's time we hung some tinsel on that evergreen bough
The answers are
The answers are
(1) Don't Let the Light Go Out; and (2) We Need a Little Christmas

Date: 2015-12-03 12:37 pm (UTC)I've always been of mixed mind about this song. As good as it is, the essential story of Hannukkah isn't really about peace.
The Maccabees fought for survival, captured Jerusalem, then created an expansionist multi-generational dynasty (Hasmonian Dynasty). During their expansion, they had no problem killing non-Jews or Jews of other sects.
Peter Yarrow is a beautiful singer-songwriter, and I deeply admire his belief in peace.
