Sorry for falling behind -- the LJ interface has been wonky for me the last few days and I haven't been able to post reliably.  So here are multiple songs instead of just one or two:

(1) With the angels let us sing,
Alleluia to our King.
Christ the Saviour is born,
Christ the Saviour is born

(2)  The shining host in bright array
Descend from heaven to earth;
And all the gentle heart and voice
Proclaim a Saviour's birth.
(3) The cattle are lowing, the poor Baby wakes.
But little Lord Jesus, no crying He makes.
I love thee, Lord Jesus, look down from the sky.
And stay by the cradle till morning is nigh.

(4) Let no man come into this hall,
Groom, page nor yet marshall,
But that some sport he bring withall,
For now is the time of Christëmas.

(5) Ding, dong, ding, dong, that is their song
With joyful ring all caroling
(6)  Ding dong! verily the sky
Is riv'n with angel singing.

#2 is fairly obscure, but I think I've got the right audience who might get it.  And #4 is medieval.  That's all the hints you're getting  :-)

And the Answers are:

(1) Silent Night;   (2) Awake and Join the Cheerful Choir;  (3) Away in a Manger; (4) Make We Merrie Both More and Less; (5) Carol of the Bells; and (6) Ding, Dong Merrily on High

1: Silent Night (which my chorus is singing this year, amazing arrangement)

2: Don't know (and, having looked it, never heard it...)

3: I got this one from rhythm alone - Away In The Manger

4: Don't know (and, having looked it, never heard it...)

5: Ukrainian Carol, aka Carol of the Bells (which we are singing this year)

6: Don't know (and, having looked it, never heard it...)

(1) The last two lines are the same or very similar to one of the verses of Silent Night, but the other two lines are not. I don't know.

(2) Apparently too obscure even for my knowledge of multiple verses of obscure carols.

(3) Away In A Manger

(4) I guessed it was medieval by the language, but I have no idea. My knowledge of medieval Christmas carols is limited to very few beyond the ones that are still somewhat popular.

(5) Carol of the Bells

(6) Ding Dong! Merrily On High (to the tune of the Official Bransle)

(1) Huh. I didn't know anyone had added verses to Silent Night. I only ever knew the first three, and only the first one in German. My brief internet research says that this verse was added later anonymously, or translated by a different person.

I think #4 is some variation of the Wassail Song, about the third or fourth verse, but only because of the rhyme scheme and words. I've been playing SOOO many Christmas tunes this year it's really hard to keep track of them all (especially when one medley alone has 18 different tunes strung together to be played in three minutes!)
