Advent follies once more
Dec. 18th, 2006 12:22 amI seem to be losing my audience . . .
Carol the first:
Still through the cloven skies they come,
With peaceful wings unfurl
And still their heavenly music floats,
O'er all the weary world.
Above its sad and lowly plains,
They bend on hovering wing
And ever o'er its Babel sounds,
The blessed angels sing.
Carol the second:
While shepherds kept their watching
O'er silent flocks by night,
Behold throughout the heavens
There shone a holy light

O'er flocks and fields that night,
When suddenly about them
There shone a glorious light.
