Heraldry I've seen today

On the trip out to dinner and back:

Gules, three charges composed of two swords in saltire - I have no idea how to blazon that properly.

Azure semy of roses argent, a fess wavy argent and in canton a portcullis Or

Argent a cross throughout gules and in canton a sword palewise gules

We're staying near the intersection of Seething Lane and Crutched Friars. Only in London. :-)

Very cool... real heraldry, filmed in the wild. In my mind, I'm seeing you stalking through the streets followed by a camera, talking in kind of an excited whisper, and of course, you've got an Australian accent. Why the accent? Because, well, crikey!

Heraldry is just a part of the ordinary day-to-day sights here. Turn a corner and there's a random building with rockin' heraldic insignia above the door. The City of London arms are on *everything*.
