Date: 2007-03-13 07:18 pm (UTC)When I was promoted to manager, my DBA position was not backfilled. So I assumed the work of both jobs. When they fired the Unix Admin, I as asked to just suck it up. At the time of them firing the unix admin, they fired the VP in charge of Security and Disaster Recovery. Her work was taken on by a director, who became my new manager. When he quit, I took on his responsibilities as well. My salary changed only when I became a manager. I do work that was once the responsibility of a VP in our company, and she was inept which is why she was fired. But I am not even paid or have the title of Director.
I wonder some mornings what the point is to even wake up.
